SERVICE TO THE AGED, known affectionately as SAGE, the home was founded in 1992 to provide a traditional home from home for the frail and elderly of the Jewish community in need of care and medical attention whether or not they are able to pay.

SAGE welcomes its residents from across the Jewish community. - SAGE in accordance with its charter, is required to have the majority of its residents from those who cannot afford fees.
- SAGE encourages residents to personalise their rooms.
- SAGE welcomes the involvement of each resident’s family and friends.
High standard of support
- We encourage residents to maintain their independence whilst providing a high standard of support to each individual.
- Medical care is available at all times and trained staff are on duty 24 hours a day.
- Staff complete comprehensive and ongoing training programmes to ensure that their professional skills are constantly updated.
- The staff also learn to work and live within the context of a Jewish way of life.

Here at Sage we love our volunteers because they provide meaningful moments and memories for our residents, they provide love, companionship and support in so many ways. They spend time chatting, playing games, assisting with mealtimes, and taking part in activities that help residents stay engaged and connected. Their kindness, patience, and dedication make a positive difference to the daily lives and wellbeing of those in our care.

High standard of hygiene
- We are proud to hold a Food Hygiene Rating of 5. This reflects our commitment to high standards in food safety, cleanliness, and management, as inspected by our Local Authority.
- Our refurbished kitchens meet the very demanding standards of the Health and Safety requirements of the Barnet Inspection Unit as well as to meet the very high standards we deem essential to offer our residents.
- Guests and relatives are encouraged to join residents for meals and a booking service is available.
- We regularly consult with our residents and Chef to ensure that all residents enjoy a balanced diet of their choice.
- Our kitchens are under the supervision of the Kedassia Authority.
Services

Short Term Respite Care
In addition to our long term residents, we welcome those who require convalescent care or those who are cared for elsewhere and need a temporary change of environment. A period of rest and first class nursing care usually provides a refreshing break for both resident and carer.
Specialist Nursing Care
Specialist nursing care is always available. Our care is tailored to meet the particular needs of the individual.
Alzheimer’s Unit
The Alzheimer Care Centre provides specialist care for 20 residents. The centre has its own lounge facilities offering residents tailor made care, comfort, security and companionship.
Palliative Care
Specialized care for residents with serious illness. It focuses on pain relief, symptom management, and emotional support at any stage to improve quality of life.
Additional Services
Physiotherapy, Wound Care, Dentistry, Podiatry, Hairdressing and Eye Care.

Upcoming Activities
Live life to the full. It is an important part of the SAGE philosophy that our residents live their lives to the full and feel that they are still very much part of the community. To help us achieve this we have an Activities Co-ordinator who is responsible for arranging a continuous and varied programme of stimulating activities both within the Home and outside. Wherever possible we like to involve relatives, friends and members of the local community. We are also indebted to our wonderful band of volunteers and extremely grateful for their untiring support.
